Westosha Central used 3 home runs as part of a 13-hit attack to defeat host Burlington 12-2 in Southern Lakes action.
Meghan Lampos earned the win, going all 7 innings in the circle. She allowed two runs on 6 hits while striking out 13.
The Falcons offense was on point early in the game. In the 1st, Lila McNeill reached by error, stole second and scored on a double by Sam Erber. She scored on a single by Allie Loucas. The Falcons added two more runs in the second when Mia Kozak and McKenna Sturino scored on Demon errors. In the 3rd, Loucas plated two on a home run to center. One batter later, Jaeda Zackery hit another home run to right field.
Burlington responded with a run in their half of the 3rd. Kati Berezowitz singled and scored on a double by Emerson Biedrzycki. The score remained 7-1 until the 6th when Westosha Central scored two more times. A single by Zackery and walk by Sturino started the frame. McNeill plated the first and a Lampos double scored the second run. The Falcons added three more in the 7th inning. Alex McKinney doubled and scored on a single by Cadence Castillo. Then Maya Swanson hit a two run homer to left. The Demons ended the scoring when a double by Macie Plitzuweit scored Sydney Ewald.
"This was a good team win" said Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe. "We showed some power but we were steady throughout the game. Meg was outstanding again tonight. Hopefully we can keep this up."
With the win the Falcons improved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the SLC. They return to action on Friday when they host the Demons in a SLC rematch.
