The Bulldogs took advantage of 8 Seymour Errors to beat the Thunder in Game 1 of Thursdays Double Header.
Ellie Winkelman started the 1st inning off with a single and advanced all the way to home on an error by the centerfielde. Kenna Mix the very next batter, would hit a solo home run on a 3-2 count to take a 2-0 lead.
The Bulldogs put 6 runs on the board in the 4th, via an Eve Hedtke bases loaded walk, 2 RBI single by Jensen Mix and a Ellie Winkelman 2 RBI Double. A Dropped pop fly also scored a run.
In the 6th inning Scarlett Rathje doubled and drove in the 10th and 11th run to end the game in the 6th inning. Even hitting was the key as eight of the nine Bulldog batters recorded a hit. Ellie Winkelman was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI, Shelby Glodowski also had 2 Hits in 4 At Bats. No Bulldog batter struck out in the game. Kenna Mix Earned the win in 5 innings of work giving up 2 hits, no runs, striking out 5 and walking 4. Ellie Winkelman worked the final inning allowing 2 hits and 1 Run. It was The Bulldogs 40th consecutive Conference win. Gillian Herrala took the loss for Seymour. Aubrey Hartleben had 2 of Seymour’s 4 Hits.
A seven-run 1st inning proved to be all Seymour needed to end the Bulldogs 40-game conference win streak, Despite the Bulldogs outhitting the Thunder 12 to 8.
Monique Martinez and Carlee Krueger each drove in 2 runs a piece for Seymour. Eve Hedtke and Ellie Winkelman led the Bulldogs with 3 and 4 hits each respectfully. Junior
Jasmine Lee took the Circle for game 2 earning the win going 6.1 innings, scattering 12 Hits, allowing 7 Runs, 5 Earned, walking 5 and striking out 2. Kenna Mix took the loss for New London in 6 innings, allowing 8 Hits, 9 Runs, 7 Earned, striking out 7 and Walking 5.
